We almost had a heart attack the other day! I was going through our regular checks when I glanced at our AWS billing dashboard, and the number staring back at me was astronomically high. For a split second, sheer panic set in. My immediate thought was that our AI agent had somehow gone rogue and accidentally spun up a million GPUs overnight.

Thankfully, after some frantic digging, the truth emerged: it was just an AWS dashboard bug. No rogue AI, no bankruptcy-inducing server bill. Just a glitch. Deep breaths!

But once my heart rate returned to normal, that fleeting moment of terror sparked a realization about the nature of the technology we are all rushing to build.

Monthly billing overview reveals an astounding month-to-date cost of $133 billion, with forecasted expenses potentially reaching $196 billion, marking a dramatic increase from previous months.

The simple truth is this: AI makes mistakes.

When those mistakes happen in purely digital, confined spaces—like a glitching number on a billing dashboard—a wrong output is certainly terrifying in the moment, but ultimately harmless. It’s reversible.

However, the stakes change dramatically as we integrate these systems deeper into our lives. When an AI is making decisions in the physical world, or driving core, unchecked business logic, those mistakes become physical, tangible, and potentially catastrophic.

There's a prevailing narrative in tech right now that success means automating everything. But the goal should never be removing humans at all costs.

The true goal—the way we actually build the future securely—is by combining AI’s incredible speed and scale with human judgment and real-world verification. We absolutely need a "human in the loop."

This philosophy is at the core of what we do. We want to make building digital products as easy and intuitive as "vibe coding," but without just vibe coding the quality. You need the speed of AI generation paired with the steady hand of human expertise to ensure the final product is robust, secure, and ready for the real world.

If you're building the next product and want to turn your next great idea into a reality faster—without sacrificing quality or oversight, using Startup Studio —come see what we're building at Frugal Scientific Pvt Ltd.
